Jason and Tiffany Maddens

Chef Jason has been cooking in restaurants for almost 20 years.  He graduated from culinary school in 2005 and accepted his first executive chef position in 2009.  Jason lives in Leesburg, VA with his wife Tiffany, three kids, Lylah, Angelina, Bryce and two golden retrievers, Bella and Tawny.

Chef Jason has worked for several chefs in the DC area, most notably Jon Krinn and Michel Richard.  The latter was a nationally known chef for many years based in Washington DC at a restaurant called Citronelle.  He opened an offshoot of Citronelle, called Central where Jason was the exec chef for two years.  Michel sadly passed away in 2016, leaving behind a legacy of chefs and cooks.  Meeting Chef Jon Krinn after culinary school Jason, worked for him at 2941 Restaurant for 3 years, and then 7 years later opened Clarity, in Vienna VA with him in 2014.  At Clarity Jason ran the wine program as well as the kitchen.  This was a first for him, and he discovered that he had a passion for wine that has become just as important as his passion for food.  In June of 2018 Jason passed the Certified Sommelier exam (lvl 2) through the Court of Master Sommeliers.

Patrick Ryan

Meet Patrick Ryan, the welcoming face at Ahso Cellars. He was born and raised in Herndon VA and started learning about wine at a young age. His parents traveled internationally from London to Australia and immersed themselves into the wine culture of the world. Patrick relived his parents wine journey through stories at the dinner table and the joy of having a glass of wine with a meal.

Patrick’s interest in wine continued to grow when he joined the service industry at 18 at Chantilly National. A couple years later he joined the Salamander Resort and Spa where he got to work with a wine list of over 300 wines from all regions of the world. It was there that he had his ‘Aha!’ wine moment, Wine of Chateau de Latour – “An eye-opening moment into the world of wine… it helped me understand the depth and complexity that is behind wine and wine making.” He furthered his wine knowledge by pursuing education via WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust). During his free time Patrick enjoys going on hikes, camping, and cheering for the Red Socks.
